The River of Time

It is 57BC and the Roman invasion of the island of Britain, is underway. The invasion threatens to sweep through the land bringing death and destruction to all who stand in the way of the Emperor's legions.

Opposing them are the Druid led forces, who are not only seeking to drive the Romans back into the sea but seize control of the many tribes, which inhabit the land.

Standing between them is a young girl and her Druid father, along with a prophecy from the Gods. A prophecy which states that she will unite the Albion people of Britain and become their Queen but since no one even knows of her existence except the Gods and her devoted father, it is going to be a challenge of epic proportions.
Bound by a prophecy she cannot avoid, the young girl ventures away from the only home she has ever known, to seek allies. Finding an ally amongst her enemy, is only the first step on the way to fulfilling the prophecy, which will change how history is eventually written.

He is a Druid Elite surrounded by the enemies of his people with no possibility of escape but he does not harbour any desire to surrender to the inevitable. It is not the way of a Druid Elite to accept defeat even when faced by impossible odds. Therefore, he must depend on his wits and resolve to make the best use of the almost non-existent resources at his disposal.

Escaping certain death, the woman and the man thought that they would be safe in this new land but it was far from that. In fact, it was even more dangerous than the one which they had left behind, despite its many wonders.

Welcome to 'A History in the Making', which is the first part of the River of Time Trilogy.
The story will challenge your understanding of history and some of the events, which occurred when the Roman Empire sent its legions to conquer this island on the edge of the known world.

Author's Notes.
Drawing on my knowledge and love of science fiction, I present an alternative version of events. This my first novel, is as epic as the time it has taken to author this tome of a story over the last 17 years. As I developed the story and the characters, it became clear that a single volume could not contain the story of how our accepted history could be just one of many alternative realities.
It soon became a trilogy of epic proportions and excuse the pun the rest is history (or is it?)

The Trilogy was written in a relatively short space of time and then the long process of Final Edit got underway. In such a complicated story line it was important that each thread led somewhere and justified its inclusion.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it! (Take it from me writing the arc of the story was the easy part.)

Update April 2021.
At the start of 2020 and following a review of how to best manage the publication of each volume of this book, as well the time required to carry out a full edit on these large volumes. I decided to split the planned three volumes of the Trilogy into seven books. When I published the first part of the Second Book titled 'War' in May 2020 I also re-issued A History In the Making in two parts.
The second part of Book II 'War' was published in December 2020 I am now currently editing the first part of 'Empires' and it is my intention to publish this book in May 2021. Followed closely behind by Part II and the final book Part III by December 2021
