| This modern home which sleeps 4/5 is situated in the picturesque village of Soredè
This unspoilt typically French village is
located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, close to the villages of St. Andrè (St. Andrew)
& Laroque des Albères. The village of Soredè has a thriving local community and the majority of the homes are owned by people who live and work in the area. Throughout the year there are festivals of all kinds which are run for the entertainment of the locals rather than being tourist attractions. That said you can expect the warmest of welcomes wherever you go. The village boasts two very good restaurants (The Salamander & Margeauxs), a Tapas Bar, as well as two bars and a take-away pizza hut. The adjoining villages both within a 30 minute walk have many more fine establishments so you are not limited by choice. Try Chêz Max in St. Andre or Les Palmieres in Laroque des Albères the food is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable. Go further afield to Maurillas and eat Catalan style at the Auberge De Chene Soredè has several Boulangeries (Bread Shops), a Tabac (Newsagent), two Vin Caves, a Bank & a Post Office (PTT) and there is even a Boucherie (Butcher) The closest Supermarket (Intermarche)is at St Andrè and there is a small shopping mall on the road to Boula (2k from house) which also has a supermarket (Champion) and a hairdressers. These places are amazing the range is extensive and the products are fresh and they smell of good wholesome food is something that is sadly no longer available in UK Supermarkets. Accommodation Details The home is on two levels and entry is through the patio doors. Ground Floor consists of Kitchenette, Double Bedroom, Bathroom & Toilet. On your left as you enter you will find the main electrical switches. The Kitchenette has a Butane gas oven/hob, sink and large Fridge/freezer. The kitchen/dining table is large enough to seat 6 people comfortably and dining and kitchenware are stored in the cupboards The groundfloor Double Bedroom is spacious & comfortable. The Shower Room has a Standard Washbasin and there is also a automatic washing machine situated in this area for guest use. The Second Floor consists of sizeable lounge and main Bedroom. There is a Z bed and Single Airbed for additional guests and there is sufficient room for these to be sited in this area comfortably. The lounge has comfortable armchairs and there is a TV/Video setup (Wide range of videos are stored in bedroom for guests use) Please note! this TV does not receive French TV due to the differences in broadcasting systems.
