Situated on the edge of Carcassonne, 20km from Limoux. The world famous medieval walled city, La Cite, said to be the finest examples of its kind in Europe. La Cite makes an impressive backdrop to any holiday snap, particularly on summer evenings against a setting sun. Access to Carcassonne itself and La Cite from St Hilaire is convenient and well signposted with plenty of parking very close to La Cite entrance. Anyone pressed for time would be well advised to put a visit at the top of their "must do" list, and follow it up with an hour at Trebes, just a few kilometres down the road. There is a charge for entering the inner fortress and museum Good restaurant to eat, it's just off the squarewhere the rest are, heading towards the Cathedral
